"When our son was 16 months old, he needed early intervention services for speech and overall development. The Board of DD provided the support he needed during a critical time in his life, and because of those services, he has made tremendous growth. When our daughter began struggling and needed behavioral health support, they didn’t simply focus on the child already receiving services. They listened to our whole story and recognized how deeply our daughter’s challenges were affecting our entire family. We had contacted every agency and doctor we could find to get help for our daughter. We felt exhausted, overwhelmed, and as though we, as her parents, had run out of places to turn. The Logan County Board of DD was the first to truly listen, understand what we were experiencing, and help us find a path forward. They connected us with an organization that ultimately changed my daughter’s life. She is now receiving the services and support she deserves, and our family finally has hope, direction, and the reassurance that we are not facing these challenges alone."

"I got a special insight of the magic that The Discovery Center Preschool brings to children in our community as I am currently employed as the school administrative assistant, and decided to send my now kindergartener to Discovery for two years of preschool! The confidence and independence that the staff at Discovery instilled into my son gave me all the confidence that he was going to be able to successfully transition into school age! I witnessed firsthand the impact that Discovery has to our youth and future leaders of our community. "Early Intervention was perfect to help us with our son. They were able to give tips and tricks that they have used and seen others be successful using, to help us! Their tips and tricks were ones that we hadn’t thought of, and right off of the bat we saw success! Sometimes you need an outside perspective or someone with new tips or ideas that you don’t even think of to help and we are grateful for this program and how it has helped our family! "Both of my children have been involved in the Early Interventions program of Logan County. My first child had issues with growth motor function, and with the help of the therapist through Early intervention he was able to meet his milestones and they gave me the resources to help them meet those milestones. He later than needed speech therapy, which they also helped in that area. With my second child, I noticed some growth motor functions as well that were delayed, and they were able to provide me with the assistance again to help him meet his milestones. They were an excellent resource to my children and myself to help them in their early developmental stages. I will always be grateful to Early Interventions of Logan County and the help of the therapist."

"We sought out Early Intervention services this past January because our son was facing a speech delay and other developmental hurdles. The team was amazing at identifying the specific areas where he needed help and putting a plan in place that truly met our family's needs. Our developmental specialist, Jamie, has been an integral part of his journey and a consistent source of support every step of the way. Prior to starting services, our son was unable to point, gesture, or effectively communicate his wants and needs. Now, he points, gestures, and uses a variety of signs, which has helped tremendously with his growth and the way he interacts with us. His play skills have also flourished, boosting his overall development and confidence in such a positive way. Throughout our son's progress in this journey, we have also grown stronger as a family, learning new and effective ways to support his developmental needs. We are so incredibly grateful for Jamie, LCBB Developmental Specialist, and the entire team's dedication to our family."

They helped us with creating a wonderful sensory room for our son...this was a game changer for us at the time! This past year has been the most difficult year we have had to face with our son. We had to make a very difficult decision to place our son outside of our home. Our SSA worked very hard to get our son into the BEST placement possible for him. “As a parent who has a son who has disability, I feel the supports that my son receives are a blessing. I am thankful for the Logan County Board of DD being in my son’s life. Brian’s SSA (case manager) Will makes sure that he talks with Brian about his needs and then helps him put services in place to meet those needs. He has had a large impact on helping Brian transition from a waiver home out of county to living locally. He also assisted with Brian moving into a home owned by the county board/Residential Administrators when he returned home and we were at risk of losing our housing.”
