Care that Connects us

“I cannot praise the Logan County Board of DD enough for the help and guidance in raising a special needs child. It's not just a job to them; they truly care and become a shoulder to lean on. I would vote yes over and over again on any levy for the Logan County Board of Developmental Disabilities.”

“Dr. King once said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, What are you doing for others?” There are agencies that say they can BUT don’t. Then there are agencies that profoundly impact the lives of those they are responsible for. Your consistent acts of kindness, service, and respect have made a meaningful impact in our lives.”

“I am very thankful for our Logan County Board of Developmental Disabilities. They have been a huge support for our family for over 10 years. They helped us with creating a wonderful sensory room for our son...this was a game changer for us at the time! This past year has been the most difficult year we have had to face with our son. We had to make a very difficult decision to place our son outside of our home. Our SSA worked very hard to get our son into the BEST placement possible for him. He is now living in a safe, healthy and happy place where he is receiving ALL of the support that he needs. We are blessed to have such a wonderful agency to advocate for our children.”

“Logan County Board of DD has been helpful in so many ways to our family. We have an Autistic, almost non-verbal child, with severe behaviors. We were struggling, as a family, being able to handle her behaviors in the home and finding additional resources. We reached out to the Logan County Board of DD for help and we cannot thank them enough for everything they have done for our family. Our daughter was able to get the help she deserved. If it wasn’t for them, this process would have been so much harder for us.”

“Early intervention has made a BIG impact on our daughter’s life. With her HIE diagnosis (Hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy), there was a chance of her never being able to walk. With the help of Remi’s Developmental Specialist, Heather, she has been making big STRIDES including running , jumping, and participating in gymnastics weekly.”

“The Early Intervention program has helped Chloe put words into sentences and has been helpful. We have seen an improvement in her confidence as well. We also feel that she's getting more social skills when she gets to go to the EI programs activities with the other kids.”

Family Smiling

“As a parent who has a son who has disability, I feel the supports that my son receives are a blessing. I am thankful for the Logan County Board of DD being in my son’s life. Brian’s SSA (case manager) Will makes sure that he talks with Brian about his needs and then helps him put services in place to meet those needs. He has had a large impact on helping Brian transition from a waiver home out of county to living locally. He also assisted with Brian moving into a home owned by the county board/Residential Administrators when he returned home and we were at risk of losing our housing.”

The Early Intervention family has been so loving and supporting through all the obstacles and through celebrating milestones and I’m so blessed that Caisyn-Lee has all of you. I love the push to get the children together and watch them flourish with each social interaction. We love you all!

“The Discovery Center Preschool holds a special place in my heart because it is where all 6 of my children began their educational journey. Some of my children had special needs and received individualized support that helped them grow with confidence, while others had the opportunity to serve as peer mentors, learning empathy, leadership and kindness.  Watching my children thrive in such a nurturing and inclusive setting is something I will always be grateful for.”

“So grateful for Discovery Center Preschool and everything they’ve done for our little guy. As parents of a special needs child, finding a supportive environment means everything – and they have gone above and beyond.  They’ve created a classroom where he feels safe, included and celebrated.  Every accommodation was made to help him be as independent as possible, and the sensory-friendly, hands-on learning has helped him grow so much.  We can’t thank them enough for their patience understanding and the love they put into helping him shine.”
